Blog Challenge Day 5!

We are sure that by now you have an Instagram or you have at least heard of it.  Here at Realty Executives NY, we have become quite fond of this latest form of social media.  Instagram has become a creative platform from which we share our regional photos of our agents, events, and trainings. We enjoy the immediate connection with our followers and love the simplicity of a simple photo to express our thoughts or ideas.

Here are our Realty Executives of New York 4 Tips to Get started:


  1. Purchase a great camera. This first tip is quite important.  There is nothing worse than a photo that is pixelated.
  2. Stick to a set niche.  If you are creating an account about Real Estate, post photos related to housing, buying, selling, or tips of the trade.
  3. Find the Perfect Lighting.  You have seen the photos where nothing in the frame is visible.  The right lighting will give you clearer pictures and draw in more followers.
  4. Quality not Quantity. Be sure to post photos that have significance to your viewers and followers.  Post at least 1 time a day and no more than 5 times a day.

This morning, Realty Executives of New York welcomed Joe Diliberti and Caleb Tidwell from Fidelity National Title to our headquarters in Astoria, NY.  Mr. Diliberti is the Queens Representative and began discussing how their new application FidelityAgent3.0 is pretty revolutionary in assisting real estate agents.


It was then up to Caleb Tidwell to discuss all the features available to the application and convince us real estate agents that it’s worthwhile.  He began by explaining the difference in the buyers feature and sellers features.  He explained how all the calculation for transfer taxes, and all other debits and credits are provide and auto-calculated. For the Buyers, realtors are able to create a quick calculation of closing costs including down payment, interest, and taxes.  Once this is created the app is able to send your buyer a comprehensive breakdown to email or text. On the sellers end, realtors are able to create a net sheet.  Just like the buyers feature, you are able to email or text to the seller.

Zillow Visits Realty Executives Today

On Wednesday September 3rd, 2014 one of our locations Realty Executives Today hosted Zillow Senior Consultant Marco Druzetich.  Mr. Druzetich guided the agents through the websites most popular features and tools to increase an agents marketability.


As an agent, I am sure you have heard of the Zillow Zestimate.  Maybe you have had clients coming in saying that Zillow said their house is worth so and so when in actuality it isn’t valued at that price.  He explained the Zestimate and what Zillow looks at when creating that pesky number. According to Mr. Druzetich the Queens area Zestimates are off by 6%.  That is quite a large difference when looking at houses in the $800,000 to $900,000. That 6% makes a difference.  So what does Zillow look at?

Zillow looks at Property taxes and sold properties.  However you should inform your clients that Zillow isn’t entering into the houses and rentals.  They cannot see the work that will be needed or the potential value of the property.  They recommend the listing agent commenting under agent comments why they think the property is actually not worth that value.

Before Leaving Mr. Druzetich discussed what agents could do to increase their visibility on Zillow.  Here is one we will share with you.  Ask your clients to give you recommendations and reviews.  This is a great way to gather more of those buyers searching around Zillow’s website.
